Ashtons Self drive commenced business in 1993, operating as an outbound agency for motorhome rental in Germany. Subsequently additional companies in other countries became Ashtons' partners and motorhomes, RV's and campervans are now available from many centres in Germany, France, Holland, Spain and New Zealand. Now internet based, Ashtons has clients in many countries, making reservations at 'arms length' between the client's country and its partners. Quotations and reservations are available on-line, and the "Live Chat" option on each web site allows for personal contact in real time.
Ashtons has deliberately restricted its operations to these countries and companies, in order to provide a quality rental experience to it's clients and to avoid trying to be "all things to all people". Ashtons staff have visited its partners on many occasions, to ensure that delivery is of the highest quality in terms of both product and service. A sound working relationship has been established with each partner, ensuring that the needs of the client are met and that any dispute that may arise is settled satisfactorily.
Ashtons Tours and Safaris commenced operation in 2001, offering guided wildlife and cultural safaris to the Greater Kruger area and the African Ivory Route in South Africa. Ashtons' own guides and vehicles take clients to a new experience in Africa; unfenced safari camps away from the main tourist routes; cultural villages to experience the heartbeat of Africa; luxury game lodges; Kruger National Park. A wide variety of experiences, to suit all tastes is available with Ashtons Tours and Safaris. Ashtons in South Africa is a member of the South African Tourism Services Association (SATSA).
